How many years ago did someone decide that WordPad doesn’t need to be included as a Windows accessory? Now you get Notepad, which is good for stripping out unwanted formatting and keeping short notes on the desktop. But WordPad did a few more advanced things, like displaying the hyperlinks when you copy and paste a list from a website. MicroSoft Word does not display the hyperlinks, although you can use CTRL + click to follow the links. But Word is so big and so slow and so cumbersome to use plus expensive to upgrade every couple of years, when all I want is a simple little WordPad to do the job.
