Divorce Jokes

Anyone who has been through a bitter divorce (is there really any other kind?) will appreciate this joke:

This market crash is worse than a divorce. I have lost over half my net worth and I still have my wife!

Peep Contests

This year two major daily newspaper publications held contests for readers to create a diorama using marshmallow peeps. Contestants built their dioramas and sent in photos for judging.

At the Washngton Post, their second annual peeps contest drew over 800 entries. Staffers reviewed all the photos and narrowed the field down to 32. Then, during a slide show of the top 32, staffers assigned a rating of 0-5 to each photo. Compiling those results determined the top 5, which resulted in the winner, “The Tomb of King Peepankhamun,” by Laura Sillers.

The Chicago Tribune ran their contest a little differently but had an impressive 235 entries.Â The imagination of the people who submitted dioramas was vast and noteworthy. I’m looking forward to next year’s contests – maybe I will enter one.

Hypnosis

The local weekly entertainment paper has a schedule of the upcoming acts at our local comdy club. I’ve been several times and always had a good time. but it has been a while since I got tickets to anything – just haven’t felt like making the effort.

The calendar for March has a very interesting show, featuring hypnotist Ricky Kalmon. That might be worth the effort to get tickets and go see.

We’ve seen several hypnotist acts over the years and it is always a good time. From what I read about Ricky Kalmon on the internet, in addition to live stage shows he does a reality show where a hidden camera records people on the street that agree to be hypnotized and then Kalmon convinces them that they are a big name celebrity. The subject actually starts talking and acting like that person. I haven’t seen it, but it sounds hilarious!

Sideways

Recently I was bored out of my mind with TV and decided to watch a movie. Normally, I like action movies like Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis films, or comedies. For some reason I picked the movie, Sideways, starring Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church, Virginia Madsen and Sandra Oh.

It was a strange movie and I’m still not sure if I liked it. It particularly bothers me that people not living in America might watch it and think that the way these characters behaved is typical for Americans and their values, because I don’t think that is true. At least, I hope not.

If you haven’t seen it, the premise is that a couple of guys are going on a short trip to California’s wine country as a type of bachelor party for Jack. The two guys are good friends but can’t tell the truth to each otherÂ nor the several girls that they meet. The comedy is in the consequences for their lying.

My favorite part is at the very end – (yah! it’s over!) when Miles gets manipulated into breaking into someone’s house to get back Jack’s wallet. The very premise and the chase scene that ensues is absolutely hilarious.

The 9 is a daily broadcast on Yahoo! TV of the 9 best, weirdest, and funniest videos, photos, websites, and stories on the internet. The show is hosted by Maria Sansone who is very funny and pretty to. The show is always about 2 to 3 minutes long and has lots of cool moments. Watching the show is how I pass a few minutes of my time each day to get a laugh. If you have not ever seen this great web show called the 9, then be sure to watch a couple of the shows coming episodes and see what I mean.

Comedy Central jokes

Anytime you want to find a joke or videos of comedians telling jokes on the Comedy Central website, this is how I always start my day is with a a good joke or two so that way i always start my day happier. What do is watch the joke of the on the video player on the website because they always have a great comedian on there telling great jokes. Anyways wanted to share this awesome place in hopes that maybe you will start you day with a joke even if it is not from Comedy Central.

Dominoes and pool trick

Found this really cool trick on YouTube in which a pool player hits a pool ball in the pocket corner and hits a domino which starts a chain reaction of dominoes tumbling and along the way, the dominoes knock in other pool balls. A very cool trick, the video clip is in French but you do not need any translation to understand the trick and what is going on so do not worry if you do not speak it, just watch the clip anyways because I am sure you will be amazed.

System be gone remote

I was talking with my friend the other day about how Gizmodo did a prank at the consumer electronic show this year, in which they had a tv b-gone remote control and went around turning off everyones television displays with it, and my friend said it would be cool if they would invent a system b gone remote so that when loud vehicles were by you, you could hit the off button on the remote and it would automatically turn off the music system. I do not know if all systems or radios work on the same band but it would be cool if they did and if someone could invent a system be gone remote.

The must see bucket list

One of this years best films is The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I give it two thumbs up as it made me laugh and cry all in happy ways that most movies today just do not do. With a great story line that matches the movies title this is sure to be a HUGE hit with everyone in theaters. If your not lucky enough to catch it while it is in theaters make sure to put this movie on your list of DVDs to get.

While surfing on YouTube I found this funny clips of commercials that are a hoot, my favorite out of the clip is the one where a woman gets a candy stuck in the machine and her co worker comes over to cheer her on to get the candy. If you need a good laugh as I did then this clip of great commercials is sure to give you a couple.

don’t park near this guys driveway

Found a funny blog page today. This guy has posted photos of people who park blocking his driveway. He’s even got little zoom windows that show the license plate of the worst offenders for inconsidrate parking practices. I have to wonder if he works at home too, so it is easy to lean the camera out the window and get a few pics when there is a lot of traffic on the street.

It looks like a tight neighborhood for parking. I hate that! I think houses should have all been built with double size driveways. I see cars parked all over the roads everywhere in my neighborhood. Americans have more than one care per house, why are there all of these driveways being built not to accommodate this? Money I’m sure – builders saving money, and we all suffer for it.
